† This includes all JUVÉDERM® injectable gel formulations. Most subjects acquired optimal correction at initial treatment.
This procedure involves injecting a substance under the wrinkle or deep facial line to push the wrinkle outward, thereby, making it fuller and less noticeable. A more vibrant and younger looking appearance is the goal of injecting fillers.

JUVÉDERM® is a ‘next generation’ family of smooth, long-lasting gel dermal fillers, and the latest advance in hyaluronic acid cosmetic filler technology. JUVÉDERM™ is a non-animal dermal filler offering a natural look/feel and long-lasting results for up to six months or longer. Over recent years, hyaluronic acid, a complex sugar already found naturally in the body, has become a favored compound for replenishing the areas of the face where the skin’s volume and fullness has been lost by injecting the filler in the skin.
The newest advance in dermal fillers has been the use of blunt tip microcannulas to inject the filler instead of using sharp needles. These tiny cannulas decrease patient bruising and discomfort. These cannulas have a smooth end and a flexible body. The smooth end does not cut through tissues and the flexible body slides under the papillar dermis inside the reticular dermis and hypodermis. These special cannulas are used in our practice and have received great reviews by patients.

In the body, hyaluronic acid fills the space between collagen and elastin fibers of the skin. It is present in all living cells; attracting and binding water, hydrating and giving the skin smoothness and volume. However, as the body ages, the ability of the body’s cells to manufacture its own hyaluronic acid is diminished, resulting in the loss of skin volume, producing folds and wrinkles.

JUVÉDERM® is biosynthetic and of non-animal origin.
Since it is not created from an animal source, there is
little chance of allergic reaction. The formula is
highly biocompatible, and no testing is required prior
to administration. It has been proven to be safe and
effective for skin of all types and colors.
The main difference between JUVADERM® and other popular
hyularonic acid fillers is that JUVÉDERM® has the
highest concentration of hyaluronic acid, and is
produced with a special formulation process that makes
it smoother than that of other popular gels. These gels
utilize a suspension process, with particles that can be
visibly seen. JUVÉDERM® is completely transparent.
The combination of the higher concentration of
hyaluronic acid and the smoother formulation make
JUVÉDERM® long-lasting (up to six months or longer),
easier to fill with, and should produce more natural,
even filling effects, with patient discomfort minimized
at the injection site. As with other hyaluronic acid
fillers, JUVÉDERM® is gradually absorbed naturally into
the body.
FAQ ?
What is hyaluronic acid?

Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a natural substance (complex sugar) found in all living organisms. It hydrates the skin by holding in water, and acts as a cushion and lubricant to reduce damage to the skin. Hyaluronic acid is an important component of youthful, supple and elastic skin, helping to maintain skin volume. As we age, our skin loses hyaluronic acid, contributing to the formation of wrinkles.
What is a "liquid facelift" ?
This is a new buzz word for any of the non surgical facial rejuvenation procedures. The "liquid facelift" combines hyaluronic acid dermal fillers (Juvederm, Restylane) calcium- based fillers (Radiesse) and muscle neurotoxins (Botox, Xeomin) all administered at the same visit for correction of lines, wrinkles and folds. These procedures of course can be done separately but it adds convenience to have two or three done at the same time. These procedures are performed with minimal discomfort in less than a hour with little to no downtime. Sometimes a little bruising or swelling may be noticed. Any other side effects are rare.
